EdHT Menu Configuration

Note: This was modified from Andrew Guthrie's original EdHT web site with new information added. These screen shots are not a true reflection of EdHT's Screens today, as these here were from the previous version. I will update some time!

The first three menu sets (PROJ EDIT & MISC) incorporate basic editor functions. These are not Editable, although the 1st editable MenuItem may be attached to the "Misc" Menu.

The Menu Config


The menu sets supplied EdHT/config/?.mcfg (MenuConfig) files can be used as is, or edited by the user to meet their needs or completely new can be created.

Supplied menuconfigs

Menuconfigs are easy to edit. Instructions are in the MenuConfig.ReadMe file when you download the demo.

  • A Menu Editor (by boAB Software) has been created for EdHT. (EdHT-MenuEdit.mcfg) (Done! :-) Use this to assist in your creation/editing of all EdHT MenuConfigs.
  • A HTML4.01 Compliant MenuConfig that encourages Validation! (Done! :-) (by boAB Software) (HTML4.01.mcfg) Includes XHTML1.x Extensions
  • An AmigaGuide Editing MenuConfig (With V.0.5 Features) (by boAB Software) (EdHT-AmigaGuide.mcfg) (Done! :-)

New Menu Configuration Commands

  • CLI command for executing Dos instructions. (Done)
  • REQCMD to define popup OK type requester. (Done)
  • WINCMD to define help? windows. (Done)
  • REXXCMD(ShowViewer) LOADCMD To open a file/url in your browser (Done)
  • WINCMD(EditWin) LOADCMD To open new specified file in EdHT Menu Configurations. (Done)
  • %file - Current file and path as parameter in a menu. (Done)
  • %aslfile - ASL File requester in a menu. (Done)
  • %marked to use marked text within a menu. (Done)

Regarding Menuconfig commands.

Not all are documented here so... Load the EdHT-MenuEdit.mcfg (MenuConfig) via PREFS Menu then select from the PREFS "MenuConfig" Menu - look for EdHT-MenuEdit, to get a better idea of all commands available within Menu Configurations.

MenuConfigs Supplied (in Full Distribution:) <EdHT> has MenuConfigs that are fully User Configurable - Examples that are provided with the latest Full Distribution of EdHT are as follows.

  • EdHT-ENV.mcfg (DEFAULT)
    (A MenuConfig for your Name etc! ENV used in ALL .mcfgs)
  • EdHT-MenuEdit.mcfg
    (A MenuConfig for Editing the <EdHT MenuConfigs!>
  • EdHT-AmigaGuide.mcfg
    (A MenuConfig for Editing @AmigaGuide files)
    Use @AmigaGuide "@" Tags as Different colour! (via PREFs)
  • HTML4.01.mcfg
    (A <HTML4.01> (compliant) MenuConfig for Web Page Editing)
    Use <html> Tags as Different Colour! (via PREFs)
  • HTML4.01-All_Entities.mcfg
    As name suggests - All Character Entity References.
    (A HTML4.01 (compliant) MenuConfig for Web Page Editing)
  • SMIL2.0.mcfg
    (A menuConfig to edit SMIL2.0 (w3c Specification - August 2001) Synchronized Multi-Media Integration Language (Version 1 & 2) Allows Animation/Audio/Media Objects as timeline presentations. (Integrated via xml - eXtensible MarkUp Language) No browsers yet fully implement this new specification but you can write documents that will change as browsers develop. (for.. ...the Future of the web, now! :)
  • EdHT-Mail.mcfg
    (A MenuConfig for Mail Editing - PGM it to do what you want!)
    Quoted Mail Lines

  • EdHT-PlugIns.mcfg
    (For configuring EdHT PlugIns)

A list of EdHT Version 4.0 (1997) User Menuconfigs
Warning! it is no use using these as they do not take advantage of Version 0.5 features. (So DownLoad URIs have been disabled)

  • AMIGAGUIDE.menuconfig by Frank Bunton
  • iX-GUIDE.menuconfig by Terry & Sandra Cooksey
    Note that the v4.0 menuconfigs had a tail of .menuconfig whereas version 0.5 menuconfigs now have a tail of .mcfg (AB Sunday 17-Jun-01 19:09:25 :)
